Assistant Traffic Management Officer

China Henan International Cooperation Group Ltd is committed to ensuring public safety and efficiency on the 66.5 Km construction site. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Traffic Management Officer to join our team. This role plays a key part in maintaining and improving traffic flow, reducing congestion, and ensuring the safety of all road users.

Key Responsibilities

• Traffic Monitoring & Control: Monitor traffic flow and manage traffic control devices such as signs, signals, and barriers.
• Incident Response: Respond to traffic incidents, accidents, or emergencies, providing immediate assistance and coordinating with emergency services.
• Road Safety Enforcement: Ensure that all road safety rules are followed and report violations such as speeding, illegal parking, and reckless driving.
• Public Assistance: Provide information to the public on traffic conditions, road closures, and alternative routes.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain records of incidents, traffic violations, and any traffic-related events.
• Collaboration: Work closely with local law enforcement and city planners to improve traffic management and road safety.

Qualifications

• Education: A minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education, those with Certificate, or Diploma in Traffic Management, Urban Planning, or a related field will have an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic management, law enforcement, or public safety.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. Good knowledge of traffic laws and regulations. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical stamina for prolonged standing or patrolling.
