The Zomba Diocese Health Commission, part of the Catholic Diocese of Zomba's Social Directorate, is recruiting a skilled Plumber (Grade M) for its facilities, specifically at St. Robert Health Centre (Sitima). The Commission is dedicated to advancing healthcare services through collaboration and adherence to Catholic values.


Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and indirectly to the Assistant Human Resources Officer, this role does not involve direct supervision of staff. Your primary function will be to ensure the effective installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Plan and install new plumbing systems.

  • Prepare pathways for new plumbing installations.

  • Lay pipes for new plumbing systems.

  • Conduct regular checks on existing plumbing systems.

  • Identify and rectify plumbing faults.

  • Address plumbing issues in staff housing.

  • Provide expert advice to management on best plumbing practices.

  • Develop and submit plumbing maintenance budgets to management.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.


Qualifications:



  • Possess a Malawi School Certificate of Education.

  • Hold a Malawi National Trade Test Certificate in Plumbing or equivalent qualifications.


Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:



  • Familiarity with the Malawian health system.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Strong problem identification and solving skills.
