POST: HEAD OF SECURITY
An International based Tourism Company is immediately seeking a qualified and dynamic Head of Security for a three-year contract. The ideal candidate will be energetic, robust, highly diligent, and possess exceptional communication abilities, among other key attributes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A relevant qualification in Security Management, Law Enforcement, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Completion of at least the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a management capacity.
- Demonstrated success in asset protection and proficient incident management.
- Experience collaborating with law enforcement agencies and private security contractors. Former Military or Police Officers are encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES OF HEAD OF SECURITY
1. Strategic Security Leadership

- Formulate and implement a comprehensive security strategy that aligns with An International Brand's operational objectives.
- Establish robust policies and procedures to ensure the safety of employees, customers, assets, and sensitive information.
- Regularly conduct risk assessments and propose proactive measures to mitigate potential threats effectively.
2. Operational Oversight

- Direct and supervise daily security operations across all company branches and facilities.
- Ensure strict adherence to local legislation, internal company standards, and international best practices.
- Coordinate closely with operations management to seamlessly integrate security protocols into service delivery processes.
3. Personnel Management

- Collaborate with management to recruit, train, and oversee security personnel, promoting professionalism and accountability.
- Organize and conduct regular security drills, briefings, and performance evaluations.
- Cultivate a workplace culture that emphasizes vigilance, discipline, and customer-focused service among the security team.
- Establish specific posts and responsibilities within the security department.
4. Asset & Information Protection

- Safeguard the company's vehicle fleet, equipment, and premises from theft, vandalism, and unauthorized use.
- Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment, and alarm monitoring.
- Protect confidential company data and customer information from security breaches.
5. Incident Response & Crisis Management

- Lead investigations into all security breaches, accidents, or instances of misconduct.
- Orchestrate emergency response plans for fire, medical emergencies, or criminal incidents.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for law enforcement, emergency services, and regulatory authorities.
6. Compliance & Reporting

- Ensure full compliance with all occupational safety and security regulations.
- Prepare thorough reports for management on incidents, identified risks, and recommended improvements.
- Advise directors on emerging security threats and suggest necessary policy updates.
7. Brand & Customer Assurance

- Maintain a secure environment that upholds An International Company's premium brand image.
- Reinforce customer confidence by ensuring safety during rental transactions and on company premises.
- Work with marketing and operations teams to align security messaging with overall brand credibility.
