The Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), established in 1964, is seeking to recruit qualified Malawian professionals for key executive leadership roles. 1. DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMES

Job Purpose: To lead and shape the creative direction, strategic planning, and content scheduling for both television and radio networks.

Required Academic Qualifications:

• Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Journalism, Humanities (with a focus on English or Drama), or Communication and Cultural Studies from recognized institutions.

Relevant Work Experience:

• A minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in a related field.

Key Competencies and Skills:

• Exceptional creative vision and ability in content development.


• Proficiency in evaluating programming effectiveness using audience data and feedback.


• Capacity for decisive action during live broadcast environments.


• Skilled in budget formulation and expenditure oversight.


• Adept at collaborating with commercial teams to enhance audience engagement.


• Strong capabilities in performance management and team coordination.


• Thorough understanding of broadcasting regulations and guidelines.
