About Us
The National Organisation of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi (NONM) is a professional, non-governmental organization and trade union representing over 10,000 members and serving as the official voice for over 18,000 nursing/midwifery professionals across Malawi. NONM is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive Intern (Administration and Finance) for a period of three (3) months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Assist in day-to-day office management, maintain filing systems, coordinate meetings, and handle general correspondence.
- Financial Assistance: Support the finance team with data entry, process payment vouchers, manage petty cash, and assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Resource Management: Assist in the procurement of office supplies and maintain an updated inventory of organizational assets.
- Documentation: Ensure all financial and administrative records are accurately captured and easily retrievable for audit purposes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (majoring in Finance or Human Resources Management, with HR majors demonstrating strong accounting knowledge) OR a Diploma in Accounting from a recognized institution.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word are essential), strong numerical skills and attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attributes: High level of integrity, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to learn within a trade union/NGO setting.
