Human Resources Assistant
Mount Meru Petroleum Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate for the role of Human Resources Assistant in Lilongwe.
Reports to: Human Resource Manager
This position is crucial for supporting and managing HR functions across all Mount Meru Petroleum fuel stations throughout Malawi. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and professional, adept at managing recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and administrative tasks for station personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee HR operations for all fuel stations in Malawi.
- Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and placement of fuel station employees.
- Monitor staffing levels to ensure adequate personnel at all stations.
- Maintain and update employee records, contracts, and essential HR documentation.
- Track employee attendance, manage leave, and oversee shift schedules for station staff.
- Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate submission of attendance, overtime, and employee data.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify compliance with company policies and labor laws.
- Address employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Organize employee inductions, training sessions, and performance management activities.
- Ensure adherence to workplace health, safety, and operational standards at all fuel stations.
- Prepare and submit HR reports covering staffing, turnover, absenteeism, and employee performance.
- Assist in implementing HR policies, procedures, and company-wide initiatives across all stations.
- Support employee welfare initiatives and foster a positive work environment.
- Collaborate with station managers on all HR-related matters and staff concerns.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possession of a Diploma in Human Resources Management.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar HR capacity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A solid understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Age Requirement: Applicants should be between 28 and 35 years of age.
