The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low- and middle-income countries, while strengthening the capabilities of governments and the private sector in those countries to create and sustain high quality health systems that can succeed without our assistance.

CHAI values diversity and inclusion and recognizes that our mission is best advanced by the leadership and contributions of people with diverse experience, backgrounds, and culture.
The Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), in collaboration with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), proposes a catalytic investment to address gaps in antenatal care (ANC) services and demonstrate the feasibility and impact of integrated primary health care (PHC) diagnostics in improving maternal and newborn health (MNH). The work will focus on implementing and generating evidence for an integrated package of diagnostics delivered at ANC clinics in Malawi. This model will also help lay the foundation for expanding access to a broader range of essential diagnostics at PHC level. CHAI will continue refining the approach and, over time, expand it to cover the full range of MNH conditions and tests. The proposed model aims to improve access to high-quality, timely diagnostics for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B, anaemia, hypertensive disorders, urinary tract infections, malaria, and other maternal health conditions during ANC visits. The project will also explore the feasibility of introducing innovative diagnostics, including dual and triple point-of-care tests and lateral flow assays.
The PIVOTAL Program seeks to recruit qualified and experienced Data Collectors to support baseline assessment activities in selected districts and health facilities across Malawi. Data Collectors will report directly to the designated Field Supervisors and work closely with the PIVOTAL Program coordination team and Ministry of Health representatives to collect high-quality quantitative and qualitative data using approved assessment tools and protocols. This is a short-term assignment to be implemented during the baseline assessment period. Specific timelines and deployment schedules will be communicated to successful candidates. All selected candidates will be required to complete mandatory training on grant protocols, ethics, and informed consent procedures prior to deployment.
