Role Description:

This is a contract, on-site position based in Kandeu, Ntcheu, for an Agribusiness Extension Manager. The role focuses on assisting farms and agribusiness clients in maximizing water usage and agricultural output. Daily responsibilities include providing expert technical advice on sustainable irrigation techniques. The position involves regular field visits, delivering training to farmers and agribusiness personnel, organizing extension activities, and monitoring progress.

The Agribusiness Extension Manager will coordinate with internal teams to synchronize water services with agricultural requirements, develop reports and recommendations, and engage with local partners and community leaders. The role also requires tracking key performance indicators, identifying areas for enhancement, and contributing to project planning and execution.

Qualifications:

• Possess extensive knowledge of agriculture and practical experience working with farms and agribusinesses.


• Demonstrate proficiency in irrigation planning, water-use efficiency, and on-farm water management.


• Experience in farm management, including production planning, resource allocation, and record-keeping.


• Hands-on experience with poultry production, covering husbandry, health management, and basic enterprise operations.


• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Extension, or a related discipline.


• Proven experience in community engagement, farmer training, and participatory extension methodologies.


• Ability to analyze farm performance data, generate clear reports, and communicate recommendations effectively.


• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse communities and stakeholders on-site.


• Proficiency in basic computer applications for documentation, reporting, and data management.


• Prior experience in water-related or rural development projects will be considered an asset.
