Underwriting Clerk

Smile Life Insurance Company Limited is recruiting a motivated and skilled Underwriting Clerk for its Blantyre office. This role is essential for managing quotations, scheme renewals, medical underwriting, reassurance, customer service, statistical reporting, and data processing.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process insurance quotations and scheme renewals accurately.
  • Review and organize proposal forms, Know Your Customer (KYC) documents, and policy records.
  • Prepare and send client communications, including acceptance letters, premium reminders, and policy documents.
  • Provide comprehensive clerical support, including report generation and general administrative duties.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements, maintaining client information confidentiality.
  • Maintain precise and current digital and physical records.

Qualifications:

  • A professional certification in Insurance (e.g., from the Chartered Insurance Institute or equivalent) will be a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with life insurance products or Group Life schemes is highly desirable.
