About

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to join our client's dynamic team in the Logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and reports.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Monitor and control costs, expenses and inventory valuations.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger balances.
• Support external audits and ensure audit requirements are met.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and statutory regulations.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Director.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the Logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation and statutory compliance in Malawi.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage or similar).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
