ATREE is actively seeking a creative and driven researcher to spearhead interdisciplinary research and practice in agroecology. The chosen candidate will collaborate closely with fellow faculty members at ATREE to cultivate interdisciplinary approaches within sustainability science, thereby advancing ATREE’s core mission. The Fellow's primary duties involve furthering agroecosystem science across India's diverse agroclimatic regions, with a specific focus on the Eastern Himalayas and the Western Ghats. This includes developing integrated strategies to enhance food and nutrient security, bolster ecosystem resilience, and conserve biodiversity. A key aspect of the role is innovating within the Food–Water–Biodiversity–Climate nexus to improve landscape multifunctionality. While primarily aligned with ATREE’s Ecosystems and Human Well-being Programme, the Fellow will engage with other ATREE programmes, such as Water & Society, Forests, Governance and Livelihoods, and Biodiversity Monitoring & Conservation Planning.

Furthermore, the Fellow is expected to cultivate partnerships with farmers, local community-based organizations, government bodies, and other stakeholders to lead initiatives focused on understanding, mitigating, and adapting to climate change impacts on agroecosystems. The role also requires securing competitive research and outreach grants, and contributing to ATREE's academic programmes (Master's and PhD), training initiatives, outreach activities, and other institutional projects.
