Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, a subsidiary of Associated British Foods plc (ABF), is the leading producer of raw, refined, and specialty sugars in Malawi, employing over 9000 individuals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage office and building maintenance repairs.
- Develop and update building documentation, maintenance schedules, and asset registers.
- Manage daily work planning and scheduling for planned and preventive maintenance, providing feedback on related activities and projects.
- Serve as the primary contact for contractors and suppliers during ongoing projects, ensuring clear and timely communication to resolve any issues or delays.
- Prepare and process procurement documentation, including Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor project progress and report findings to the Administration Manager.
- Support in preparing project reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Provide inspection checklists for completed works.
- Ensure that health, safety, and environmental standards are followed during all project activities.
- Promote and adhere to Illovo's procedures, policies, and guidelines, including limitations related to SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Job Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant trade qualification is required.
- Experience in maintenance planning, team and contractor management, or facilities management is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities to ensure a cohesive team, coupled with good communication skills to effectively interact with team members, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Proactive approach with strong planning skills and the ability to anticipate future needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, enabling the management of multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to new challenges in a dynamic work environment.
