CARD BUSINESS MANAGER
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Digital Banking, this role involves providing strategic and operational leadership for the Bank’s Card Business. The Card Business Manager will be responsible for driving card sales, transaction growth, merchant acquiring, product development, operational excellence, risk management, compliance, and enhancing customer experience in alignment with the Digital Banking Strategy.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead growth in card sales, usage, transaction volumes, and value across credit, debit, and prepaid card products.
- Develop and manage business opportunities involving cardholders, merchants, and strategic partners.
- Lead initiatives for product and business development, including new card products, value-added services, business requirement documentation, and user acceptance testing.
- Oversee card operations, encompassing card issuance, production, limits, cancellations, PIN management, dispute resolution, chargebacks, and refunds.
- Manage merchant relationships, service provider partnerships, contracts, and service level agreements.
- Monitor competitor pricing, market trends, card risk profiles, operational losses, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and supervision to the Card Business team.
- Champion and ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements for the Card business.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive operational and management reports pertaining to the Card Business.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Computer Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Possession of a Digital Finance certification is desirable.
- Four (4) years of experience in banking, digital, or card business operations within a similar environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to achieve targets in sales, revenue, risk management, and service quality.
- Capability to engage, negotiate, and build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies such as the Digital Finance Institute or ICTAM is an added advantage.
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
