About Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc
Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc is Malawi's leading producer of raw, refined, and specialty sugars, employing over 9000 individuals. As part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group, it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Associated British Foods plc (ABF).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials from trucks into the warehouse.
- Redistribute inventory on-site as required.
- Pick orders efficiently and effectively.
- Assist with stacking and de-stacking of material stacks.
- Build stable and interlocking stacks during stacking and de-stacking, and guide others in ensuring this is done correctly.
- Correctly fasten tarpaulins on open body trucks to ensure all sugar is covered for protection from water and dust while in transit.
- Maintain relevant safety standards, including wearing PPE and performing all activities with due care to prevent accidents or incidents.
- Prevent all product quality damages whilst loading or stacking.
- Perform cleaning activities across the warehouse and maintain housekeeping standards, ensuring all work and staff areas are kept clean.
- Promote and adhere to Illovo's procedures, policies, and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Job Requirements
- A Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) is required. A Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) will be an added advantage.
- Must possess sound fitness, physical strength, and endurance for manual tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and flexibility to work across different warehouse areas.
