The Judicial Service Commission of the Republic of Malawi invites applications from suitably qualified Malawian citizens for the position of High Court Judge within the Malawi Judiciary.

Key Duties

• Hear and determine cases falling within the jurisdiction of the High Court of Malawi.
• Adjudicate cases impartially and independently in strict adherence to the Constitution and all applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Applicants must possess high integrity, be capable of managing large volumes of work, and hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited institution.
• Candidates must be fit and proper to exercise the functions of a Judge.
• Must not have been convicted by a competent court of a criminal offence and sentenced to a term of imprisonment without the option of a fine.
• Must currently be, or have previously served as, a judge of a court with unlimited jurisdiction in criminal or civil proceedings, or be entitled to practice as a legal practitioner, advocate, or solicitor in such court and have practised for not less than ten (10) years.
