2. Human Resources & Administration Manager
Role Intent
To develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and administrative systems that support the organization’s goals. The role provides leadership in workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and overall administrative operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement HR strategies and policies aligned with organizational objectives.
Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and staff retention.
Manage performance appraisal systems and staff development programs.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, organizational policies, and ethical standards.
Lead employee relations, disciplinary processes, and grievance handling.
Develop and monitor HR policies, procedures, and manuals.
Manage compensation, benefits, payroll coordination, and staff welfare.
Promote a positive organizational culture and employee engagement.
Identify training needs and develop capacity-building programs.
Coordinate leadership development and succession planning.
Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness.
Oversee general office administration and support services.
Manage administrative staff, office assets, and facilities.
Ensure proper records management and documentation systems.
Coordinate logistics, fleet management, and office security.
Manage contracts with service providers and suppliers.
Advise senior management on HR and administrative matters.
Prepare HR and administration budgets and reports.
Participate in organizational planning and decision-making.
Lead, mentor, and supervise HR and administrative staff.
Serve as Secretary of the Board and Human Resource and Administration Committee of the Board.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Public Administration.
Membership of Malawi Institute of People Management Malawi (IPMM).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in private-sector Human Resource Management and Administration.
Knowledge of education institutions and working with academic staff.
Required Skills and Competencies

In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in HR systems and MS Office applications.

Understanding safeguarding issues in a school environment.
