Role Purpose
This position is responsible for implementing and managing monitoring and evaluation systems to assess how effectively NGO work contributes to national development objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and facilitate the registration of non-registered NGOs.
- Ensure NGOs adhere to reporting requirements and assist them with submissions via the MyNGO platform.
- Monitor NGO activities, producing regular progress reports, identifying best practices, and ranking top-performing NGOs at the district level.
- Enhance the capacity of District Executive Committees (DECs), NGOs, and local structures in utilizing MyNGO.
- Empower community structures (ADCs and VDCs) on NGO operations and establish communication channels between these structures and NGORA.
- Receive and appropriately refer complaints regarding NGO operations for resolution.
- Coordinate the signing and review of project-based Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between district councils and NGOs.
- Maintain and update the NGO database, analyze the NGO sector, and share findings with relevant district stakeholders.
- Develop district NGO maps to guide councils in project allocation based on NGO distribution.
- Provide data-driven insights from NGO data to assist councils in developing policies such as Social Economic Profiles and District Development Plans.
- Collaborate with district councils and community structures to ensure only registered NGOs operate within their jurisdiction.
- Represent NGORA in meetings concerning NGO matters, including District Council Executive Meetings, and document relevant information.
- Conduct community capacity-building sessions on NGO databases.
- Undertake other duties as assigned that are relevant to the post.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, or a related field from an institution accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
- A minimum of three years of professional experience at an officer level.
- Demonstrated strong planning and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
