Job Type: Full Time

Organizational Context

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), in partnership with the Malawian Government and supported by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), is implementing the "Ecosystem-based Adaptation for Resilient Watersheds and Communities in Malawi" (EbAM) project. This initiative aims to bolster the climate resilience of vulnerable ecosystems and communities. It focuses on integrated watershed planning and management, investments in diversified agricultural value chains, and the adoption of agricultural and agroforestry systems. The project also emphasizes strengthening institutional capacity through Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) principles. The goal is to enhance the potential of ecosystems to support sustainable production of goods and services for both subsistence and commercial purposes, benefiting individual farmers, farmer groups, and MSMEs. The project will span 6 years across 11 Malawian districts, targeting over 500,000 rural residents. It is set to restore, conserve, or improve the management of over 250,000 hectares of land, achieving net emission reductions or removals of 2.75 MtCO2e within its operational lifespan.

FAO is providing crucial technical support to the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, specifically its Department of Land Resources and Conservation (DLRC), for the execution of the EbAM project. The Department of Agriculture Extension Services (DAES) will play a significant role in disseminating the Farmer Field School (FFS) methodology. To amplify project communication and visibility, particularly through designing communication materials like banners, apparel mock-ups, and presentation templates that adhere to the project's visual identity, the expertise of a Graphics Designer is required.
