Operations Manager – Poultry
Role Overview
As the Operations Manager for Poultry, you will direct and oversee all aspects of poultry farming, encompassing layers, breeders, and hatchery operations. Your primary focus will be to achieve peak production performance, ensure cost-effectiveness, and strictly adhere to biosecurity standards. The role also involves championing ongoing enhancements in flock health, team expertise, and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Performance
- Direct daily operational activities across all poultry facilities.
- Track and enhance critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including:
- Egg production percentage against set targets
- Poultry mortality rates
- Feed Conversion Ratios (FCR)
- Egg size and quality consistency
- Manage depletion and placement schedules to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
- Strive for excellence in the onset of lay and peak production output.
Farm Management
- Provide guidance to farm managers, verifying the consistent execution of routine tasks.
- Uphold ideal stocking densities, implement appropriate lighting schedules, and manage environmental conditions.
- Confirm the correct application of feeding programs throughout all growth stages.
- Monitor the functionality of water systems, ventilation, and farm equipment.
Hatchery Operations
- Administer hatchery operations, focusing on maximizing hatchability, chick quality, and overall throughput.
- Orchestrate egg flow, manage egg age, and develop precise setting plans.
- Guarantee the correct functioning and regular maintenance of all hatchery machinery.
