Company: Plan International
Plan International operates as an independent development and humanitarian organization, dedicated to advancing children's rights and advocating for gender equality for girls. We firmly believe in the inherent power and potential of every child, recognizing that these are frequently hindered by poverty, violence, exclusion, and discrimination, with girls often bearing the disproportionate brunt.
Collaborating with children, young people, supporters, and partners, our mission is to build a just world by addressing the root causes of challenges confronting girls and vulnerable children. We champion children's rights from infancy through adulthood, equipping them to navigate and overcome crises and adversity. We are committed to driving changes in practices and policies at local, national, and global levels, leveraging our extensive reach, experience, and knowledge.
For over 85 years, we have mobilized determined optimists to transform the lives of children across more than 80 countries. Our commitment persists until equality is achieved for all.
This position aims to contribute to Plan International Malawi's 'Skills and Opportunities for Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship (SOYEE)' priority area. This initiative empowers youth to become active drivers of change across their communities' economic, social, and civic spheres. The successful candidate will lead the development and ensure the high-quality delivery of impactful SOYEE programming, alongside strengthening youth collective action. This includes enhancing resource mobilization for movements led by girls and young people. The role provides essential expertise and thought leadership for the country team's programming efforts at all levels within these domains, and involves designing, developing, and reviewing strategies to ensure technical soundness and consistency of program approaches.
Reporting to the Technical Lead SOYEE, this position involves close collaboration with all Programme Technical Leads, Programme Area Managers, Project Managers, and the MERL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning) and Strategic Communications teams. While there are currently no direct supervisory responsibilities for staff, the incumbent will oversee SOYEE project implementation and monitoring to ensure the achievement of quality outcomes. This role also provides technical input for Program Quality initiatives, focusing on enhancing project management processes and capabilities, and ensuring appropriate guidance and tools are utilized in SOYEE programming.
