- Job Overview
- Orant Charities Africa is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Procurement Officer based in Kasese, Dowa. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement processes, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services, and maintaining compliance with organizational and donor procurement policies.
- Reporting To:
- Finance Manager
- Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute procurement activities in line with organizational policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, requests for quotations/proposals, bid documents, and contracts
- Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and supplier databases
- Develop, review, and update procurement policies, manuals, and standard operating procedures
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with relevant departments
- Provide guidance to staff on procurement policies, laws, and best practices
- Ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in procurement processes
- Assist in tracking procurement budgets and expenditures
- Oversee movement and delivery of goods and services to project locations
- Conduct market surveys and price analyses
- Support audits and ensure compliance with donor and organizational requirements
- Coordinate disposal of assets in line with organizational policies
- Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- CIPS Level 4 Diploma or above will be an added advantage
- Registered and paid-up member of the Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS)
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management within an NGO or donor-funded environment
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and procedures
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
