UNOPS is seeking an ICT Associate with a focus on Quality Assurance to join its Information and Communications Technology Group (ITG). This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and reliability of critical financial and IT systems, particularly within the Process Innovation and Digitalization (PID) Programme. Job Specific Context

Reporting to the QA Team Lead, the ICT Associate - Quality Assurance will be responsible for executing comprehensive testing strategies throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This includes testing requirements during development and validating functionality before production deployment. The role requires effective communication with business stakeholders, business analysts, and development teams. The ideal candidate will be adept at quickly learning complex applications, committed to continuous learning in QA and technology, and possess strong skills in work effort estimation, commitment management, and multitasking. A keen interest in utilizing AI tools to improve testing efficiency and quality is highly valued.

This is a project-funded position with an expected end date of December 2029. The role is home-based, but the incumbent must ensure a reasonable overlap with Bangkok (UTC+7) business hours for collaboration with the QA team and supervisor. Stable, high-speed internet access is essential due to the continuous use of enterprise financial systems, cloud-based environments, and AI-assisted QA tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Solutions Designers to understand business requirements for test case creation.
• Develop and execute high-quality test cases in a timely manner.
• Conduct end-user testing based on provided requirements and user stories.
• Review and analyze user stories and requirements for validity and feasibility.
• Provide clear and concise feedback to development teams, business analysts, product owners, and end-users.
• Identify and communicate test schedule or testing-related risks to the QA Team Lead.
• Perform various levels of software testing, including System, Integration, and Regression, for UNOPS IT applications.
• Assist in identifying and reproducing bugs and errors with development team members.
• Support the implementation of automated software testing and propose solutions for increasing testing efficiency.
• Proactively identify risks and areas for improvement in software testing processes and procedures.
• Stay updated with industry best practices, guidelines, and documentation for testing.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing activities within the QA team.
• Assist in developing documented, standard processes for Quality Assurance.

Requirements

• Secondary school (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Information Technology with 2 years of relevant experience.
• A QA Testing Certification is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in software and web-based testing (with secondary education) OR minimum 2 years of experience (with a Bachelor's degree).
• Demonstrated understanding of different types of tests and testing approaches.
• Proficiency in test automation and SQL.
• Proven experience in writing high-quality test cases, performing end-user testing, and documenting test results.
• Experience with, or a strong interest in, using Generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, Copilot) for test case generation and execution.
• Fluent in English.
