Kindness Acts Campsites, located in Khwawa, Karonga, is actively recruiting diligent and enthusiastic individuals for the positions of Chef, Waiter/Waitress, and Cleaner. These roles are vital to supporting the daily operations of the campsite's restaurant and hospitality services, ensuring excellence in food preparation, customer care, cleanliness, and overall guest satisfaction.


Chef


Responsibilities:



  • Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality, nutritious meals for campsite guests, adhering to strict hygiene standards.

  • Develop diverse menus tailored for campsite settings, incorporating local flavors and outdoor dining experiences.

  • Ensure all dishes are cooked to perfection, presented attractively, and served punctually.

  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness, organization, and safety within the kitchen and food preparation areas.

  • Efficiently manage food inventory, storage, stock rotation, and distribution to prevent shortages and minimize waste.

  • Control portion sizes and reduce food wastage through effective ingredient utilization.

  • Ensure full compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.

  • Coordinate meal preparation for groups, special events, and campsite activities.

  • Accommodate guest dietary preferences and specific meal requirements.

  • Monitor kitchen equipment for functionality and promptly report any maintenance needs.

  • Contribute to budgeting, cost control, and the procurement of food supplies.

  • Undertake administrative tasks related to kitchen operations and maintain stock records.


Qualifications:



  • A Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.

  • A minimum of two years' experience in a busy kitchen or cafeteria environment.

  • Strong communication and organizational capabilities.

  • The ability to take initiative and work autonomously, alongside fulfilling other assigned duties.


Waiter/Waitress


Responsibilities:



  • Greet and serve campsite guests with a warm, professional, and friendly demeanor.

  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and deliver meals promptly.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and a welcoming atmosphere in dining, outdoor seating, and serving areas.

  • Prepare tables, buffets, camp dining stations, and service areas prior to meal times and events.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and hospitality at all times.

  • Assist guests with menu selections and respond to queries courteously.

  • Support food and beverage service during campsite events, bonfires, and group gatherings.

  • Ensure all cutlery, crockery, glassware, and serving equipment are clean and properly arranged.

  • Monitor supplies of service items and report any stock shortages.

  • Collaborate closely with the Chef to ensure seamless and timely service delivery.

  • Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues as required.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all guest-facing areas.

  • Undertake any other duties assigned by management.


Qualifications and Experience:



  • A Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality or a related field.

  • A minimum of one year's experience in a restaurant, lodge, hotel, or campsite setting.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with hygiene and food handling standards is an advantage.


Cleaner


Responsibilities:



  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize the restaurant, kitchen, outdoor dining spaces, washrooms, and general campsite areas.

  • Sweep, mop, dust, and maintain the cleanliness of floors, furniture, windows, and common areas.

  • Wash kitchen utensils, dishes, cookware, and serving equipment as needed.

  • Ensure proper collection and disposal of waste to maintain a clean campsite environment.

  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation and storage zones.

  • Replenish cleaning and sanitation supplies as required.

  • Support adherence to all health, hygiene, and safety standards.

  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or shortages of cleaning materials to management.

  • Assist with cleaning duties before, during, and after campsite events and guest activities.

  • Properly store all cleaning equipment and chemicals after use.

  • Ensure outdoor guest areas are consistently clean, safe, and inviting.

  • Undertake any other duties assigned by management.


Qualifications and Experience:



  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).

  • Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or sanitation services is advantageous.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

  • A hardworking, reliable individual capable of working with minimal supervision.

  • Good communication and time management skills.


All successful candidates must possess strong Christian values and be prepared to relocate to Khwawa, Karonga.
