Purpose of the Job
The Partnership Officer will be responsible for supporting the efficient and effective implementation of Buffalo Bicycles Malawi mobility solutions, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with partner organizations, district government officials (Education, Health, District Council), and internal WBR teams (Partnerships & Business Development, Operations, Finance).
- Identify and engage development partners in health, education, and economic development sectors.
- Collaborate with partners to design interventions and allocate Buffalo Bicycles.
- Develop and implement a reporting system with partner organizations in Malawi to track progress and ensure sustainability of WBR/BBM funded bicycles.
- Represent WBR and Buffalo Bicycles Malawi at district-level coordination meetings and stakeholder engagements.
- Support implementing partners in community mobilization, reporting, and feedback.
- Build the capacity of implementing partners to implement WBR/BBM mobility solutions for high sustainability.
- Facilitate donor and WBR leadership visits to program sites.
- Ensure mobility solution learnings are incorporated into future WBR/BBM initiatives.
- Collect WBR/BBM impact stories.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in project management or business development.
- Experience in the development sector (NGOs, foundations, CSR departments) is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and networking skills to build broad client/customer networks.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and facilitation skills.

Working Conditions/Cognitive Demands
The role is based in a field office environment, requiring support for operational activities outside the immediate office, including local travel for partnership activities. Occasional extra hours may be necessary. The position demands strong attention to detail, accuracy in handling records, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
