Let's Build is a global non-profit organization, founded in Norway in 2020, dedicated to increasing access and enrollment in public Secondary Education by building classrooms. Operating in Sub-Saharan Africa, including Malawi since 2021, they partner with governments to construct double classroom blocks and pit-latrines. The organization is impartial, neutral, independent, and without religious or political affiliation, aiming to provide safe, inclusive, and protective learning environments. Their mission is to build schools that help children access and complete Secondary Education.

Role Purpose

Let's Build is seeking a temporary Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator for a three-month contract. The coordinator will be responsible for conducting a District Needs Assessment in Lilongwe, Dowa, Dedza, and Salima, as well as a Project Impact Assessment on completed Secondary School infrastructure projects across 26 schools in Lilongwe District. The role involves potential contact with children and young people, requiring strict adherence to Let's Build's Child Safety Policy.

Key Duties

• Develop a methodology for analyzing infrastructure gaps in existing Secondary Schools, using desk-based data.
• Analyze data and prioritize existing Secondary Schools most in need of new infrastructure.
• Review and recommend improvements to current Let's Build District level project impact indicators.
• Develop baseline datasets for District level project impact indicators for selected Districts.
• Create baseline datasets for Secondary Schools with ongoing and planned Let's Build projects.
• Develop datasets for all Secondary Schools where Let's Build projects have been implemented.
• Assess project impacts in line with Let's Build's mission and the Ministry of Education's goals for increased equitable access to quality secondary education.
• Establish lessons learned for future Secondary School construction programming.
• Document recommendations for onward planning and scaling up initiatives.

Qualifications

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• A Master’s Degree will be considered an added advantage.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting Development/Education program evaluations.
• Extensive experience in data collection and analysis, research reporting, and related issues and policies.
• Proficiency in using Kobo Collect data collection tools.
• Proven practical knowledge of education programs, policies, and activities.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Experience working with government partners, district-level structures, and community stakeholders.
