The Wasambo Education Foundation (WEF) is a non-profit organization located in Chilumba, T/A Wasambo, Karonga District. The organization runs a wide range of programs such as tuition scholarship opportunities for the youths, girls’ empowerment and manages the Wasambo Institutions. The focus of our programs positioned on serving the community by offering a wide range of growth and development opportunities to the youth, especially through education and livelihood support, which aim at nurturing responsible citizens of both the community and the nation at large. The Wasambo Education Foundation (WEF) is currently recruiting a Programs Manager to oversee the implementation and supervision of the organization’s programs, ensuring they run smoothly and achieve their objectives. This includes managing program staff, coordinating activities, monitoring progress, and supporting student engagement through schools and community initiatives. The role also involves maintaining accurate program records, collecting reports, and assisting with internal planning to ensure programs are delivered effectively. The Programs Manager also supports communications and media activities, supervises volunteers and interns, and helps ensure proper documentation and reporting of all program activities. The role is central to maintaining the quality and impact of WEF’s initiatives while fostering collaboration among staff, students, and partner institutions.
i. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree. This degree can be in Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, Project Management, Public Administration, Business, or any related management field from a recognized and accredited institution.
ii. The position is located in Chilumba, in the southern area of Karonga District. The applicant should have a demonstrated willingness and ability
iii. Demonstrated passion for community empowerment, with strong commitment to promoting and protecting the rights, welfare, and safety of youth, especially girls and vulnerable children.
iv. Exceptional English ability, both written and speaking. Also, ability to communicate effectively in local language(s), which will be an added advantage when working with communities and youth.
v. Good communication and listening skills, with the ability to explain programs clearly and work well with youth, parents, teachers, and community leaders.
vi. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work professionally and respectfully with diverse stakeholders, including international partners, government officials, traditional leaders, teachers, and community members.
vii. Commitment to the mission, values, policies, and procedures of the organization, including confidentiality, safeguarding, and code of conduct requirements.
