The Business Development Officer at District30 will be responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion for District30’s cyber security and data protection services. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and positioning District30 as a trusted cyber security partner across corporate, government, and SME sectors. The officer will work closely with technical, consulting, and management teams to translate District30’s security capabilities into clear, value-driven solutions that address customer risk, compliance, and operational challenges, while building long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities for District30’s cyber security services.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline across multiple industries including finance, telecoms, healthcare, energy, NGOs, SME, and government.
- Promote District30’s service portfolio including SOC/SOCaaS, managed security services, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, data protection and privacy services, incident response, and security consulting.
- Achieve assigned revenue, growth, and customer acquisition targets.
- Client Relationship & Account Management
- Build, manage, and sustain long-term relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Understand customer business objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory obligations to position appropriate security solutions.
- Act as the primary commercial point of contact for customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and service continuity.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements in line with District30 policies and approval frameworks.
- Solution Positioning & Value Proposition
- Translate technical cyber security offerings into clear, business-focused value propositions.
- Position District30 as a trusted advisor rather than a product vendor.
- Support customers in understanding cyber risk, compliance requirements, and return on security investment.
- Collaborate with technical teams to shape customer-specific solutions and service bundles.
- Strategic Planning, Research & Partnerships
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, regulatory changes, competitor activity, and emerging customer needs.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management on new service offerings, pricing strategies, and market entry opportunities.
- Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with technology vendors, training providers, and consulting partners.
- Support go-to-market strategies and marketing campaigns for new and existing services.
- Pre-Sales, Proposals & Bids
- Lead and support proposal development, RFP/RFQ responses, and bid submissions.
- Coordinate inputs from cyber security engineers, analysts, and consultants during pre-sales engagements.
- Prepare and deliver customer presentations, solution overviews, and executive briefings.
- Ensure proposals align with customer requirements, regulatory expectations, and District30 capabilities.
- Reporting, Forecasting & Performance Tracking
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities, pipeline status, and customer interactions.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, pipeline health, and revenue forecasts.
- Track KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement of business development processes.
- Provide management with insights to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in IT, cyber security, or professional services.
- Good understanding of cyber security concepts, managed services, and compliance-driven solutions.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams.
- Experience selling services (not just products) is a strong advantage.
