Eastern Produce Malawi Ltd. is a prominent Malawian company operating in the tea and macadamia sectors. Committed to sustainable agriculture and ethical farming practices, the company holds certifications such as Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, and FSSC 22000. They are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Finance Manager, who will report directly to the Finance Manager.
Key Duties
- Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements within specified deadlines.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, conducting variance analysis and providing insightful commentary.
- Develop and maintain financial models and interactive dashboards for KPI tracking and senior management reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, tax regulations, and coordinate audits.
- Oversee foreign purchasing activities, including order processing, tracking, duty payments, costing, foreign payments, regulatory compliance, documentation, and monthly supplier reconciliations.
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the finance department, coordinating the team to ensure efficient monthly close processes and timely general ledger reconciliations.
- Manage weekly and monthly cash flow reporting, projections, and payables.
- Provide training, mentoring, and supervision to the finance team on daily accounting tasks and technical skills.
- Review and enhance finance systems and procedures to drive operational and financial efficiencies, productivity, and overall business performance.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related finance discipline.
- Full membership with ACCA and ICAM, or a similar professional body.
- At least 5 years of post-professional qualification experience in a senior-level finance position.
- Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in ERP accounting software (e.g., iScala, SAP, Sage).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, including dashboard development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
