About the Role

The Malawi Country Office is seeking a dynamic Partnerships Specialist to join our Communication, Advocacy & Partnership team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in advancing results for children by cultivating strategic collaborations with key stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include environmental scanning, knowledge sharing, resource mobilization, and policy influence, positioning you as a central resource for all partnership development activities.

Reporting to the Chief of Communication, Advocacy & Partnership, you will actively engage with partners, identify and pursue new funding avenues, and assist in managing existing grants. Your work will directly enhance UNICEF's capacity to deliver essential programmes that protect children's rights and foster a more equitable society. This is a significant opportunity for a committed professional to make a profound and lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, cultivate, and secure new opportunities for partnerships and resource mobilization, including from public, private, and innovative financing sources.
• Manage a pipeline of potential partners by maintaining updated intelligence, screening inquiries, and utilizing relationship tracking systems.
• Lead or provide key support in the negotiation and finalization of partnership agreements, donor contracts, and grant amendments, coordinating with both local and global teams.
• Nurture and strengthen relationships with a diverse range of partners, ensuring effective communication and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and execute comprehensive partnership and resource mobilization strategies and annual work plans that align with UNICEF's global goals.
• Offer strategic guidance and logistical support to senior management and programme staff for their interactions with public and private sector partners.
• Conduct thorough analysis of external trends, potential risks, and emerging opportunities to inform partnership strategies and organizational decision-making.
• Oversee the timely preparation and submission of high-quality donor reports, ensuring strict adherence to agreement terms.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, which may include training and mentoring interns, consultants, or other short-term personnel.
