Ecobank, a leading Pan African Bank known for its multicultural and dynamic work environment, is seeking a suitably qualified, passionate, innovative, and experienced professional to join its Malawi team as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner. This position is tenable in Lilongwe.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the successful candidate will partner with business leadership to understand objectives, drive people strategy, and ensure HR initiatives directly support business growth and boost employee productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business objectives into strategic HR initiatives that drive results.
- Provide coaching and guidance to line managers on people management, leadership, and change.
- Collaborate with line managers on talent acquisition, development, retention, and workforce planning.
- Support performance management cycles, including goal setting and development planning.
- Identify skills gaps and determine training needs to enhance employee capabilities.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion to strengthen the employee value proposition.
- Analyze HR data and metrics to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and practices.
- Act as a point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant resolutions.
- Promote a positive employee experience and foster a culture of engagement, inclusion, and high performance.
- Support employee engagement surveys and lead associated action planning.

Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s and Master’s/Postgraduate degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized university.
- At least 7 years of strategic human resources business partnering experience in the financial services industry.
