Tingathe is a non-governmental organization that partners with peri-urban communities to build wealth that sticks. We work with young people, community leaders, women in small businesses and school-going children, equipping them with practical skills to help them thrive in their communities.
Tingathe is seeking motivated youth interns to join our team. These internships offer a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop practical skills while contributing to programmes that improve the lives of vulnerable people.
The internships are self-sponsored, but Tingathe Malawi provides transportation for field activities.
Must be based in Lilongwe (preferably close to Mtandire – Air Wing).
Overview:
The Finance & Administration Intern will gain exposure to financial and administrative operations within an NGO setting.
Responsibilities:
Support basic bookkeeping and record keeping
Assist with organizing programme and office documentation
Help prepare simple financial and administrative reports
Learn practical office administration and organisational processes
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or currently pursuing a degree in these areas
Interest in finance, accounting, or administration
Basic computer skills and numeracy
Willingness to learn and follow financial and administrative procedures
Overview:
The Communications Intern will gain experience in promoting Tingathe’s programmes, creating content, and supporting media engagement.
Responsibilities:
Assist in drafting newsletters, articles, and social media posts
Take photos and videos during events and programme activities
Support storytelling and documentation of programme successes
Help maintain the organization’s online presence
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or currently pursuing a degree in these areas
Passion for communications, media and storytelling
Good written and verbal communication skills
Interest in learning social media, web publishing, photography and content creation
Overview:
The Programmes Intern will support community-based projects, gaining practical experience in programme implementation and monitoring.
Responsibilities:
Assist in mobilizing communities and supporting programme activities
Support data collection and reporting for programme monitoring
Help organize and facilitate community meetings or trainings
Contribute to documentation of programme outcomes and success stories
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Work or related field or currently pursuing a degree in these areas
Interest in community development, project management, or social work
Willingness to engage with communities and support programme activities
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
