Country Offices execute each nation's programmatic priorities as outlined in their respective Country Programming Frameworks (CPFs), which are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF). They also ensure effective and efficient operations through adequate human and financial resource management.

This position is based at the FAO Representation in Lilongwe, Malawi.
The Office Associate is responsible for leading and coordinating the office and management support functions. This role ensures the seamless flow of office operations and information by prioritizing tasks and organizing daily activities. The incumbent must possess in-depth knowledge and the ability to interpret office policies, procedures, and practices, providing procedural guidance to managers and staff within the office or location.
The Office Associate reports directly to the FAO Representative in Malawi.
This role operates with significant autonomy, demonstrating a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. Supervision primarily focuses on facilitating service delivery. The incumbent will effectively organize, supervise, and provide relevant guidance and training to other office support staff.
The incumbent will maintain extensive contacts with managers, staff, and external counterparts across the Organization. These relationships may involve high organizational levels, necessitating excellent communication skills and an experienced approach to handling complex issues.
The Office Associate's work directly contributes to the smooth and efficient functioning of the Office. This role is pivotal in coordinating and delivering office support services, which are essential for the successful fulfillment of the Division's mandate.
Education: A Secondary School Education is required.
Experience: Five years of relevant experience in management and office support capacities.
Languages: Proficiency (level C) in English is required, along with intermediate knowledge (level B) of another official FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
IT Skills: Excellent command of MS Office applications.
