Vanguard Life Assurance Company Limited, a rapidly expanding local financial services firm established on January 1, 2001, offers life assurance investment solutions and related financial services. The company also oversees Vanguard Pension Services Company Limited, a reputable pension administration subsidiary.

We are seeking qualified and experienced individuals to fill a challenging and prestigious role:

Business Development Officer (2 positions)

Reporting to: Group Business Marketing Manager

Direct Subordinate: None

Contract Type: Full Time

Location: Blantyre

Position Overview:

This role involves servicing existing clients and actively marketing Pension and Group Life Assurance products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct market analysis and contribute to product design.


• Deliver technical training sessions.


• Provide excellent client service and ensure business retention.


• Manage public relations efforts for pensions and corporate clients.


• Participate in Funds and Board of Trustees meetings.


• Offer advisory services to employees.


• Champion Know Your Customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering initiatives.


• Oversee debt management.


• Prepare reports and returns.


• Develop and manage the pensions marketing budget, ensuring adherence.


• Present reports to clients and fulfill other statutory requirements.

Required Qualifications and Attributes:

• A minimum of a Degree in Marketing or Business Administration, or a Diploma in Insurance (CII). A degree combined with ongoing insurance qualification studies will also be considered.


• A minimum of 5 years of experience within the insurance industry.


• Proficiency in public relations and strong communication abilities.


• Demonstrated effective selling and marketing skills.
