Security Supervisor

About the Role

The Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Research Programme (MLW) is seeking a dedicated Security Supervisor to bolster its Security Section. This role is crucial for supporting the Security Services Coordinator in implementing and overseeing robust security and safety measures across all MLW operational areas. The objective is to ensure the protection of MLW personnel, assets, and facilities. The position involves contributing to the creation and ongoing refinement of security policies and procedures to adapt to the dynamic risk landscape. A key aspect of this role is the effective management of security systems, including CCTV, access control, communication platforms, and alarm monitoring, alongside supervising security staff to uphold performance standards and procedural adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Security Services Coordinator in implementing and overseeing integrated security and safety measures.
• Contribute to the development and review of security policies and procedures.
• Manage and operate security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring.
• Supervise security personnel, ensuring adherence to established procedures and performance standards.
• Conduct security investigations and risk assessments.
• Produce professional reports on security matters.

Requirements

• A Diploma in Security Management/Security Studies, Criminology, or a related field.
• A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience within a structured international organization or research institution.
• Proven experience in managing security personnel and operating various security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems).
• Demonstrated ability to develop and review security policies and procedures.
• Experience in conducting security investigations, risk assessments, and report writing.
• Possession of recognized professional security certifications is an advantage.
