In this pivotal role, you will ensure the secure transportation of team members and partners while rigorously adhering to all traffic regulations and organizational policies. As a key contributor to the Operations team, reporting directly to the Operations Manager, your commitment will be crucial in supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's field activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with field program teams to strategically plan movements, optimizing vehicle utilization.
- Partner with the Fleet Officer to maintain vehicle service schedules and promptly report any maintenance or mechanical requirements.
- Uphold strict compliance with the travel and fleet policy, meticulously following established procedures.
- Provide essential logistical and administrative support during workshops and training sessions, facilitating seamless coordination.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for managing and coordinating inventory and stock items within field offices.
- Immediately report any vehicle-related issues or incidents to management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local traffic laws and optimal routes to ensure punctual deliveries.
Requirements
- Possession of a minimum Grade 12 GCE certification.
- A valid driver's license accompanied by at least three years of demonstrable driving experience.
- Certification in transport and logistics will be considered a significant asset.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout Malawi.
- Prior experience working within multicultural environments and with cross-country teams is advantageous.
- A strong capacity for strategic thinking, effective prioritization, and proactive initiative.
- Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
- A proven record as an excellent team player.
- Previous experience within the international development sector is preferred.
- Advanced computer literacy across a comprehensive range of software, including MS Teams and Outlook, as well as social tools.
- Excellent command of the English language, encompassing written, conversational, and presentation skills.
- All academic and professional qualifications must be presented as certified true copies of the originals.
