The Malawi Country Office presents an exciting and fulfilling career opportunity to join our dynamic Communication, Advocacy & Partnership team. As a Partnership Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the office's efforts to achieve positive outcomes for children by strengthening strategic collaborations with key stakeholders and influencing their active engagement. This position serves as a crucial interface for environmental scanning, knowledge exchange, resource mobilization, and policy influence. You will also act as a primary point of contact and resource for colleagues regarding partnership development.

Reporting to and supervised by the Chief Communication, Advocacy & Partnership, the Partnership Specialist is instrumental in engaging partners, identifying new funding avenues, and managing existing partnerships. This work directly enhances UNICEF's credibility and its capacity to deliver essential programme services that protect children's rights and foster greater social equality, enabling them to survive, develop, and realize their full potential.

This unique opportunity invites a qualified, motivated, and dedicated individual to significantly influence UNICEF's mandate. By excelling in this role, you will contribute to transformative results for children through the following key responsibilities, among others:

• Identify, pursue, and cultivate new opportunities for partnerships and resource mobilization, including public and private collaborations and innovative financing models.
• Maintain up-to-date partner intelligence, evaluate new inquiries, and manage relationship tracking tools.
• Lead or assist in negotiating and finalizing partnership agreements, donor contracts, and/or grant amendments, coordinating both locally and globally.
• Strengthen relationships with diverse partners, facilitating communication and engagement throughout the implementation and completion phases of grants and projects.
• Develop and execute partnership and resource mobilization strategies and annual work plans to ensure cost-effective delivery of results, in line with UNICEF's global partnership strategy.
• Offer strategic and logistical support to senior management and staff in their interactions with public and private partners.
• Analyze external trends, risks, and opportunities to inform partnership strategies, policy influence initiatives, and organizational decision-making.
• Oversee the preparation and finalization of timely, high-quality donor reports, ensuring strict adherence to original or amended agreements.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support team success, including guiding, training, and coaching short-term staff, interns, and consultants as required.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

Education:

• An advanced university degree (Master's equivalent) in international relations, political science, communications, international development, or another relevant technical field is required.

*Candidates holding a first University Degree in a relevant field, coupled with an additional two years of professional experience, may be considered in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Experience:

• A minimum of five years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: resource mobilization, fundraising, partnerships, external relations, public affairs, or another related field.
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in partnership development and resource mobilization, including proposal development, drafting and reviewing grant agreements, and building relationships with international donors, is essential.
• Proven experience in establishing partnerships with key organizations such as EU/ECHO, FCDO, and other international development entities is required.
• Strong experience in preparing proposals, briefs, and other relevant partnership documentation is mandatory.
• Ability and experience in identifying and evaluating potential p
