About
NBS Bank Plc is inviting applications for a Relationship Manager to join its Corporate Banking Department in Lilongwe. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving portfolio growth and income generation through developing and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring client retention, and delivering efficient banking products and services within the Bank’s approved risk appetite. This role reports directly to the Head of Corporate Banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement portfolio business and sales plans in line with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
- Analyze market trends, industry developments, and portfolio performance to identify new business opportunities.
- Drive revenue growth by actively selling and cross-selling the bank’s products and services, including assets, liabilities, trade finance, and digital solutions.
- Build and manage robust client relationships to increase wallet share, enhance customer loyalty, and improve retention rates.
- Identify and onboard new business clients that align with the bank’s risk appetite.
- Assess, structure, and recommend credit facilities in adherence to risk and compliance requirements.
- Monitor portfolio performance against budget and targets, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality service in line with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor credit quality and work to minimize non-performing loans within the portfolio.
- Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and audit standards, including KYC and compliance guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Contribute to product development and enhancement by providing market intelligence, customer feedback, and identifying emerging needs.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely portfolio performance, sales, and management reports to support informed decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in Corporate or Commercial Banking, with at least 3 years held at a supervisory or relationship management level.
- A proven track record in successfully managing corporate client portfolios, driving revenue growth, and achieving business development targets.
- Strong experience in credit analysis, structuring credit facilities, and providing trade finance solutions.
