The ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM), the country's leading professional body for ICT professionals, is hiring a Finance and Operations Manager to be based at our Secretariat in Lilongwe.

Position Summary
The Finance and Operations Manager will be a key leader within the Secretariat, responsible for overseeing all daily operational activities while managing the organization's financial functions. This includes budgeting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and ensuring statutory compliance. This role reports directly to the General Manager and is crucial for the smooth and efficient functioning of the association.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat, ensuring efficient workflow and collaboration across all departments.
- Manage all financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts reconciliation, and the preparation of timely financial reports.
- Assist in developing annual budgets, preparing financial statements, and conducting variance analysis.
- Supervise and provide clear guidance and support to Secretariat staff.
- Monitor and evaluate both operational and financial performance, reporting key metrics and insights to the General Manager.
- Ensure strict compliance with all organizational policies, internal procedures, and statutory financial requirements.
- Provide support for event planning, stakeholder engagement initiatives, and partnership management.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on strategic planning and support its effective execution.
- Deliver regular, comprehensive updates and reports to the General Manager on all operational and financial matters.
Candidate Profile
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a role combining operations and accounting or financial management.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience managing teams and coordinating operations across multiple departments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Active and registered membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) is mandatory.
- Knowledge of current trends in the ICT industry is a significant advantage.
