Machine Operator

Agricultural Trading Company Limited (ATC), a subsidiary company of AHL Group Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Machine Operator as follows:

Position function

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Production Supervisor, and responsible for ensuring that Factory machines are working properly, stocked with required materials, well-maintained and performing periodic checks on output.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of the Machine Operator will include the following:

1. Operating production machines according to standard procedures in order to meet production quality and daily production plans;
2. Checking the quality and mix of raw materials input into production machines to ensure etective machine operation and product quality;
3. Assisting in the maintenance of plant and machinery during maintenance schedule;
4. Always complying with Health and Safety Procedures and Practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment;
5. Reporting any unsafe act, condition, accident or injury immediately to the supervisor;
6. Making and maintaining production records daily i.e. raw materials used, products and damages produced;
7. Supervising the subordinates and ensuring that they understand their roles and safety precautions.
8. Any other related duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Attributes

1. National Trade Test Grade 1;
2. Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE):
3. At least 3 years’ experience in Plant Operation including a Forklift;
4. An artisan experience in electrical or mechanical or instrumentation would be an added advantage;
5. High integrity and ethical conduct;
6. Team player.
