Healthwise, a registered non-profit organization in Malawi, is dedicated to addressing the root causes of poverty through an integrated approach. The organization delivers multisectoral services focusing on education, health, agriculture, climate change, gender equality, economic empowerment, early childhood development, child safeguarding, and youth governance. Their programs primarily target girls, young women, children, youth, and other vulnerable populations.
Currently, Healthwise is undergoing a five-year institutional capacity enhancement supported by the Civil Society Strengthening Fund (CSSF) and funded by a consortium of partners, including Tilitonse Foundation, Comic Relief, and UK International Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aid in the preparation of financial reports and maintenance of financial records.
- Provide support for data entry and the management of financial transactions.
- Assist in maintaining precise and current financial ledgers.
- Contribute to bank reconciliations and account analyses.
- Offer assistance during internal and external audit processes.
- Manage daily administrative operations, including office supplies, logistics, and asset management.
- Undertake any other finance-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum of a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution; a degree will be considered an advantage.
- Possess at least two years of relevant experience in finance and administration within an organizational setting, covering record-keeping, payroll support, donor compliance, budgeting, reporting, expense tracking, and statutory compliance.
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
- Exhibit a strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Show a willingness to learn and a high degree of integrity.
- Must be a registered member of the Malawi Accountants Board.
- Candidates should be between 25 and 40 years of age.
