SEASONAL GROUNDNUTS BUYING CLERKS
Pyxus Agriculture Limited, a subsidiary of a reputable provider of responsibly sourced, sustainable, and traceable agricultural products and ingredients, operates in Malawi, serving its shareholders and customers. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Seasonal Groundnuts Buying Clerk.
Job Purpose:
The successful applicant will oversee the acquisition, data capture, and reconciliation of groundnuts sales data throughout all buying cycles for both Integrated Production System (IPS) growers and Contract Marketing suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Groundnuts Buying and Payments
- Facilitate the physical groundnut purchasing process for contract market suppliers at designated buying centres, strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Input buying data into the required system at specified buying points, following SOPs.
- Ensure payment receipts are accurately prepared and processed for disbursement.
- Support the organisation of buying schedules for contract market suppliers.
- Assist in capturing verified buying data for IPS growers.
- Verify that all buying equipment is operational, secure, and ready for use at all times.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for the collection, handover, and proper storage of groundnuts.
- Maintain precise and verifiable transaction records.
2. Data Reconciliation, Truckload Creation, and Record Keeping
- Reconcile bags of Nut In Shell (NIS) from incoming trucks at the warehouse against physical documentation.
- Cross-reference the physical stock of contract marketing NIS within the warehouse against corresponding physical documents.
- Generate truckloads for all groundnuts arriving at the warehouse, in accordance with SOPs.
- Liaise with the field team regarding any issues related to NIS delivery at the warehouse.
- Ensure verified buying documents are properly filed and securely stored at the warehouse.
3. Reporting
- Promptly identify and report all system-related issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Timely identify and report buying-related issues to the responsible personnel.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly reports.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Attributes, and Knowledge
- A minimum of a Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or Accounting is required.
- Essential experience of 2 years in data capturing, buying, sales, or accounting.
- Proficiency in working with an information management system.
- Possession of excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, analytical, and computer skills.
- Must be self-driven, disciplined, and highly motivated.
- Willingness to work and reside in remote areas is crucial.
