Transport Analyst – Blantyre

Puma Energy Malawi Limited, a key player in the fuel downstream sector, seeks a motivated Transport Analyst to join their Blantyre operations. As an associate company of the Puma Energy Group, we are committed to the safe and efficient supply, storage, and transportation of petroleum products across Malawi.

Role Overview:

The Transport Analyst will be instrumental in planning routes and networks, optimizing costs and efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing stakeholder relations, including Bulk Vehicle Operator (BVO) welfare. This position involves leveraging data and logistics systems to enhance the movement of goods, vehicles, and personnel while upholding Puma Energy Malawi's stringent standards, local legislation, and current HSSE requirements.

Core Functions:

  • Champion HSSE and Compliance: Uphold PUMA HSSE policies, operating procedures, SAPS Manual, Transport Manual, and legal mandates. Foster a culture of safety focused on zero incidents, fatalities, and product contamination. Conduct driver briefings, verify documentation, manage journey plans, perform truck inspections, and enforce controls such as truck sealing, fuel-loss prevention, and panic-alarm protocols.
  • Drive Performance and Excellence: Monitor transport plans and KPIs, conduct regular performance evaluations, and coach BVOs and transporters to elevate efficiency, service delivery, HSSE performance, and customer satisfaction. Lead weekly transport meetings, address performance gaps and violations, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Manage Training and Driver Safety: Ensure timely completion of mandatory training for BVOs and relevant personnel (SAPS, firefighting, First Aid, work permits, incident investigation). Utilize VMS/telematics data to track driver behaviour (speeding, harsh braking/acceleration, idling) and provide timely feedback and corrective actions.
  • Maintain Visibility and Reporting: Oversee truck movements and journeys to ensure route adherence, visibility, and on-time deliveries. Maintain accurate transport KPIs and truck records, analyze transporter losses, and report incidents, violations, performance trends, and deviations to management.
  • Manage Transporters and Administration: Collaborate with contracted transporters to ensure service quality, compliance, and performance. Monitor journey plans, address VMS violations, manage transport contracts, and review monthly transport invoices for accurate and prompt processing.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Logistics and Transport or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated staff management skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in essential computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Ability to thrive in a demanding, customer-facing environment and manage external stakeholders effectively.

Interested candidates should submit their applications, including a CV, copies of certificates, and details of three traceable referees, via email to malawirecruitment@pumaenergy.com by the close of business on Tuesday, 1st September 2026.
