AVC Industries specializes in extracting and refining oil from locally grown oil seeds, particularly soybeans. The company was established in alignment with the Malawi Government’s priority of promoting value addition and agro-processing under the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy II (MGDS-II). AVC Industries has been granted Priority Industry status and aims to reduce the country’s import of crude oil by 45% over the next five years.
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to support our Export & Import Department. The ideal candidate will coordinate transport operations, manage logistics documentation, and ensure the smooth movement of goods both locally and internationally. Fluency in Swahili is mandatory for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and organize trucks for export loading and dispatch
- Manage local/domestic shunting and transport logistics
- Liaise with clearing agents to ensure timely preparation and processing of import/export documentation
- Track shipments and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company procedures
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and logistics activities
- Assist in resolving logistics-related issues and delays
- Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse teams, and external partners
Requirements
FLUENCY IN SWAHILI (MANDATORY)
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Proven experience in logistics, transport coordination, or import/export operations is an advantage
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic logistics systems
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of customs procedures and documentation
- Experience working with clearing agents and transporters
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Working Conditions
- Location: Lilongwe (Area 3 - HQ), Malawi
- May require occasional extended working hours depending on shipment schedules
