EU Global Gateway Coordination Expert
NTU International is actively expanding its international network of senior experts. We are seeking seasoned professionals to support current and upcoming assignments related to the European Union’s Global Gateway Initiative within partner countries that receive EU external cooperation support.
We are looking for highly qualified individuals with a proven track record in coordinating and supporting investment-focused development initiatives that align with EU Global Gateway priorities. The goal is to enhance local and regional expert networks, boost awareness, improve coordination capacity, and provide project preparation support for Global Gateway-aligned investments and reforms.
These expert roles may involve short-term and long-term engagements within EU-funded technical assistance projects, Team Europe initiatives, and donor-backed infrastructure and investment programmes.
Areas of Expertise
We are particularly interested in professionals with experience in one or more of the following domains:
- Sustainable infrastructure
- Energy and renewable energy
- Digital transformation and connectivity
- Transport infrastructure and mobility
- Water, sanitation, and environmental management
- Private sector development and investment promotion
- Climate resilience and green transition
- Public sector reforms relevant to investment and infrastructure development
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates may be involved in activities such as:
- Contributing to the formulation and execution of reform strategies and policy actions.
- Facilitating coordination across EU Global Gateway priority sectors and among relevant stakeholders.
- Assisting in the identification and preparation of investment projects that align with Global Gateway objectives.
- Conducting or contributing to analyses of regulatory, institutional, and sector-specific frameworks.
- Supporting the development of feasibility studies and the creation of an investment pipeline.
- Enhancing collaboration between partner-country institutions, International Financial Institutions (IFIs), Team Europe actors, private sector entities, and other development partners.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement, facilitating dialogue, and managing institutional coordination processes.
- Contributing to donor coordination efforts and ensuring alignment with EU external cooperation priorities.
Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in development cooperation, infrastructure, investment, or closely related fields.
- Demonstrated experience with EU-funded external cooperation programmes.
- Proven experience in project preparation and/or coordination within the context of the EU Global Gateway framework, Team Europe initiatives, or comparable investment-oriented international development programmes.
- Experience collaborating with partner-country institutions, international financial institutions (IFIs), development finance institutions, or private sector stakeholders.
- Strong capabilities in analysis, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English, at a minimum of C1 level, is essential.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to partner countries will be considered an advantage.
