About the Role
Saint Andrew's International High School is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Physical Education for KS3-KS5. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting student welfare, diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging for all its students. Full background checks will be conducted.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons aligned with a high standard for Key Stage 4 to Year 12.
- Ensure coverage of the curriculum and relevant learning activities to foster student progress.
- Utilize formative and summative assessment methods tailored to student needs.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, provide pastoral care, and contribute to school-wide events and activities.
- Ensure a safe working environment and adhere to school policies, including safeguarding and health and safety.
- Maintain constructive relationships with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Supervise students, provide feedback, and assist with administrative tasks as required.
- Undertake training and development relevant to the post.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- A good degree or equivalent in Physical Education.
- Teaching qualification, such as PGCE and QTS.
- Proficiency in ICT literacy for teaching purposes.
- Experience in secondary setting and using baseline data for teaching.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
- Further education, such as MA.
- Experience teaching IGCSE, BTEC, and A-Level.
- Experience in curriculum development and systematic professional development.
- Experience teaching a second subject.
