Lounge Services Assistant

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Lilongwe Handling Company Limited (LIHACO), a state-owned commercial entity established in 2000, provides comprehensive passenger, ramp, and cargo handling services, along with travel, tour, and lounge services for airlines operating in and out of Malawi's airports. LIHACO is currently seeking applications from qualified internal candidates to fill the following positions at the Tiyende Lounge, located at Kamuzu International Airport.

Post: Lounge Services Assistant (LH8)

Reporting To: Lounge Services Officer

Direct Reports: None

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate passenger lounge access and verify membership credentials.
• Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring passenger comfort at all times.
• Manage the preparation and replenishment of food and beverage offerings within the lounge.
• Monitor lounge facilities, promptly reporting any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Address and resolve customer complaints or issues professionally, escalating when necessary.
• Provide boarding announcements and coordinate with airport personnel as required.
• Maintain adequate stock levels for refreshments, supplies, and lounge amenities.
• Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of tables and seating areas to maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
• Uphold stringent health, safety, and hygiene standards across all service areas.
• Offer assistance to elderly, disabled, or passengers with special needs.
• Process payments accurately and maintain corresponding records where applicable.
• Ensure strict compliance with company policies, aviation regulations, and customer service standards.
• Assist with the opening and closing procedures for the lounge.
• Promote lounge services and inform passengers about available facilities and amenities.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Educational Qualification

A minimum Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism from a NCHE accredited institution is required. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field will be considered an advantage.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of experience in the Hospitality Industry or within an airport environment is essential.
