We are a highly-regarded, busy restaurant renowned for its exceptional modern international and local cuisine. To uphold and elevate our esteemed reputation, we are seeking a talented Cook/Chef to meticulously prepare delectable dishes according to our established menu. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of four years of diverse culinary experience, demonstrating proficiency across a range of cooking styles and cuisines, from authentic Malawian fare to inspired Asian and Italian creations. This role is instrumental in attracting new patrons and solidifying our standing. The position is situated in rural Nkhotakota, with accommodation provided in the adjacent village.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare diverse food items using various cooking vessels and grilling equipment.


• Actively monitor food during the cooking process, ensuring proper turning and stirring.


• Enhance the visual appeal of dishes through artful presentation before serving.


• Maintain an impeccably clean and organized kitchen environment.


• Oversee the proper storage of all food supplies and ingredients.


• Rigorously assess the quality of all incoming ingredients.


• Manage inventory levels, proactively reordering supplies to prevent shortages.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Demonstrated experience as a professional cook.


• Comprehensive understanding of varied cooking techniques, including grilling, baking, and boiling.


• Adherence to stringent sanitation and health protocols.


• Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team and perform under demanding circumstances.


• Exceptional communication abilities.


• Excellent physical fitness and endurance.


• A diploma from a recognized culinary institution will be considered an asset.
