Assistant Lecturer In Oral Health Sciences (2 Positions)

Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), a leading centre for health education, research, and innovation, is dedicated to advancing knowledge and skills through student-centred and impactful initiatives. Following a recent Functional Review, KUHeS has established a new organisational structure and staff establishment. While an internal placement exercise was conducted, several critical roles remain unfilled. KUHeS is now seeking to recruit qualified individuals to fill these key vacancies as part of its ongoing functional review implementation.

   ASSISTANT LECTURER IN ORAL HEALTH SCIENCES (2 POSITIONS)
   

Grade: KU7

Department: School of Medicine and Oral Health

Reporting To: Head of Oral Health Sciences

Purpose of the Role

To provide essential support in the delivery of academic programmes within the School.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to teaching and learning activities.


• Oversee the work of undergraduate students.


• Engage in scholarly research.


• Deliver and supervise clinical services.


• Conduct effective tutorials for students.


• Integrate and adapt new technologies and concepts into teaching and learning methodologies.


• Prepare and submit comprehensive reports as required.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree with Credit, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.


• A minimum of one year of post-qualification clinical dental experience, including successful completion of a recognized internship.


• Current registration with the Medical Council of Malawi.
