About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated District Clean Cooking Officer to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in implementing our clean cooking programme at the grassroots level, working directly with communities to distribute improved cookstoves and coordinate field operations.

The successful candidate will supervise field teams, manage distribution logistics, and ensure quality data collection across rural communities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about sustainable development and community engagement.

Position Details

Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

Coordinates with: National Clean Cooking Planning Officer

Location: Field-based with district office coordination

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations & Team Management

• Deploy and supervise field teams across designated distribution points

• Brief and equip trainers before deployment

• Coordinate daily team movements to optimize coverage and efficiency

Distribution & Quality Assurance

• Conduct household-level distribution of improved cookstoves

• Achieve distribution targets (14 cookstoves per trainer per day)

• Ensure all distributions meet operational and quality standards

Data Management & Documentation

• Complete same-day data entries in the iVerify system including GPS coordinates, photos, and beneficiary information

• Submit daily activity reports covering areas visited, cookstoves distributed, and team deployment

• Maintain online fuel logbooks with mileage and vehicle usage details

• Prepare weekly scope of work and progress reports

Strategic Planning & Expansion

• Develop expansion roadmaps for engagement with Traditional Authorities

• Identify strategic training points and cookstove drop-off locations

• Engage with local stakeholders and community leaders

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Development Studies, Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field (or equivalent relevant field experience in community-based health or development programmes)

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in community-based programmes, distribution, or outreach work

• Proven track record of supervising and supporting field teams

• Experience working with diverse stakeholders including community leaders and government officials

Working Conditions
