Namuleri Limited is a Malawian enterprise with interests in clean energy and microfinance. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a qualified and motivated professional to join our team in Lilongwe in the following role:
Accountant
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and internal policies
- Maintain up-to-date records for accounts payable, receivable, and the general ledger
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Manage payroll, statutory returns, and tax submissions (e.g., VAT, PAYE, pension)
- Reconcile bank statements and support cash flow monitoring
- Coordinate audits and liaise with internal/external auditors
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and recommend improvements
- Assist with donor, project, and operational budgeting and reporting
- Maintain a proper filing system and support administrative finance tasks
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 3 years’ accounting experience (experience in energy or microfinance preferred)
- Sound knowledge of GAAP, Malawi tax law, and statutory returns
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and financial systems
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- High integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
